Phoenix and Sedona, Arizona

The Speech

We travelled to Phoenix, Arizona, for Sheryl to speak to a group interested in her services from Augmented HR Solutions and her book Making It Work: Managing Your Health Condition Through ADA Workplace Accommodations (affiliate link). Sheryl’s book is a hit with the ADA National Symposium!

Stormy Weather

In July, the Phoenix area was hit by a heavy rain storm. Wind and rain crossed the area, and the wind toppled over trees and cacti. Seeing a downed cactus tree was sad, but the situation allowed us to see what was under the prickly surface. These cactus are much like trees. They have a woody interior.

Bike Ride

The hotel had attractive options for its guests. They loaned us some bicycles for a few hours. The side trip allowed us to enjoy the area around the resort. We explored neighbourhoods, a mall and an old trail. On our way back to the resort, we came through a neighbourhood and observed a few coyotes.

When it Rains

After the conference, we headed to Sedona. In Arizona, you would be surprised that rain can arrive anytime in the desert. When it rains, it pours, and life sprouts after these amazing downpours.

We encountered another massive rainstorm mixed with snow during our side trip to Flagstaff. We came upon Fry’s Food and Drug. This is an interesting store since the logo and branding are the same as the now-liquidated Fry’s Electronics.
